1) How many books do I own?
A few years ago when I last boxed up all of my books for a move, I had over fifty boxes of books. If you want to know how many I have now, you come over and count them. I know I haven't beaten Bernita with her 5,000, but I must be close to KM's 200. A goodly amount are non-fiction, but I'm not really sure what the percentage is. Hubby is a big fiction reader and I'm the non-fiction dork.
2) The last book I read?
I will refrain from mentioning the one I'm currently trying to read, but I manage to bitch about it more than read it. The last print fiction book I read was Pleasure Dome (yaoi manga). The last ebook I read was Kay's The Legacy and I haven't finished it. I bought it, started reading it, fell in love with it and my computer crashed. From here on out all ebooks are going straight to my flashdrive. I need to download it again Chip/LAP gives you five downloads per purchase in the event you lose your copy like I did.

Eight Habits
I’ve been tagged by JH Bogran.
List eight of your habits.
1)I virtually pet John and Bryan’s dogs nearly every morning. (Yes, I know, that’s sickeningly sweet.)
2)When I’m on a writing binge, I keep my nails painted and I prefer odd colors or as my mother calls it “that horrid stuff I put on my pretty nails.”
3)I’m one of those annoying knee-bouncers and my friend Debbie says the faster I type the faster my knee bounces.
4)I’ve become so accustomed to listening to music while I type, that I wear headphones to check my e-mail even if I’m NOT playing music.
5)During mini-breaks, I refresh my myspace home, check my yahoo inbox and check my g-mail inbox in that order. If I do it in a different order something feels off. However, I check my g-mail first when I wake up and it’s the last thing I check before going to bed.
6)I have my kitchen organized to minimize coffee making speed. I did this by design and on purpose. I can reach the coffee pot, water source, coffee, cups, spoons, sugar and milk all within a half of a step.
7)I write consecutively and I do not type out an outline.
8)I make my character designs by starting with current personality then I use psychology to figure out the backstory. The last thing I come up with is appearance. (About to Sin is an exception because when you see two really freaking hot guys, ya gotta start there.)

13 Things on My Desk
This is a cool little meme. It gives a glimpse of the writer behind the words.

1)I spent some time in Guatemala and was accused of being a nun and a doctor. To this day, I don’t know why.
2)To break writer’s block, I’ll paint my nails. It’s basically my only girly-girl habit.
3)I learned how to operate a drill press and other power tools before I learned to apply make-up or cross-stitch.
4)One part of my family history has been traced back to 1655 and I’m the only left-handed person on record.
5)I’m scared that spiders will eat my toes while I’m writing.
6)I can hold someone’s head while they vomit, but the sound of someone blowing their nose makes me ill.
7)I can’t properly function without cats in the house.
8)Legos and Construx were my favorite childhood toys.
9)I vocalize while I write.
10)I’m trying to work a coffee reference into every story I write that’s over 5k words.

Once in a lifetime meme
Once in a lifetime…
I’ve been tagged again.
Pick one thing you’d like to do before you die, but most likely won’t.
I’d like to visit Mars. Don’t look at me like that, I mean this. I would love to do some interplanetary travel. I doubt I’ll ever get to do this, because, well…I don’t think science will progress fast enough to enable this kind of affordable tourist traffic before I die. Of course, if I win a big lottery I might be able to talk to Russians into taking me to the moon.
In the meantime, there’s always science fiction. ^_^

1) I’m left handed. Hey! No one said these had to be scandalous or anything.
2) In HS, I was a founding member of my school’s FCA, Fellowship of Christian Athletes. I wanted to join the clergy and I went so far as to line up a scholarship and gained acceptance to a religious school. I write m/m erotica now. My how things change.
3) I consider myself a simple mountain girl with a coal miner/electrician for a father and a school teacher for a mother.
4) My first jump into “faghagdom” was when an exboyfriend, Eric, came out to me.
5) I have helped drag queens “tuck and tape.”
