Marci Baun tagged me to participate in this. Thank you, Marci. A chance to talk about my writing? I'm all over that! You can read about Marci's work here and here.
I had intended to post this yesterday, but work was being uncooperative.
1. What is the (working) title of the book?
Tainted Past, Full Circle II, and About to Sin
2. Where did the idea come from for the book?
Tainted Past: Watching a Hitchcock marathon.
Full Circle: a vision of Alvaro with a shackle around his wrist.
About to Sin: I.D. Locke and I were discussing a priest she saw in Canada and a doctor I saw in Williamsburg. They had to meet even if it was only in fiction.
3. What genre does your book fall under?
Tainted Past: Erotic mindfuck. What? That's not a genre? Fine. Thriller/Horror
Full Circle: Erotic vamps/paranormal/fantasy
About to Sin: Erotic Romance. Contemporary.
4. Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
No idea. I can barely name actors and saying "that one dude with the hair who did that
movie were they did that stuff" isn't useful for anyone.
5. What is a one-sentence synopsis of the book?
Tainted Past: We are but a culmination of our experiences, but what if the mind fails? Who helps
us re-learn ourselves and to what degree can we trust them?
Full Circle II: (spoilers...) Beaten by defeat the vampires set out to hunt their foes. One has to face a
demon from his past.
About to Sin: A priest endures a crisis of vocation when he falls in love with a cynical
doctor. A cynical doctor has to overcome his past wounds or risk losing his
heart to bitterness.
Those were two sentences. Sorry.
6. Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
Tainted Past is under contract. I’m currently in discussions with a publisher about Full Circle II. I'm not sure what route I'll take for About to Sin.
7. How long did it take you to write the first draft of the manuscript?
Tainted Past's first draft took a month. About to Sin took a few months. Full Circle II is
still in progress.
8. What other books would you compare this story to in your genre?
Tainted Past is homage to Hitchcock. Full Circle is a solid GvE story. About to Sin is the closest
thing to a true romance story that I've ever written. Basically, take your pick
of whatever you want to compare it to.
9. Who or what inspired you to write this book?
The same thing that “inspires” every book: a pressing need to write it.
10. What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
Tainted Past delves into interpersonal relationships, trust, and psychology. If the reader is
looking for a mindfuck, this will be one.
Full Circle II is full of personal epic battles as well as some good old fashioned ass-kicking.
Oh yeah, hot vampire sex too. Alvaro does a seductive dance by firelight. He's
all hot sweaty when he does it.
About to Sin: Sexy doctor+ sexy priest + broken men = who wouldn't want to read it?
Now, I get to be evil and I get to tag people. Bwwwhahaha! I’ll try to not let the power go to my head. J.H. Bogran (the man writes books in two languages. He’s awesome.), Mychael Black, James Buchanan, Emily Veinglory, C.B. Potts.
